3 Peaks Ascent 2010

Story

Team Three Peaks Ascent 2010 is made up 15 of John Holland Construction Employees and Associates.

Riders will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge in March 2010, a one day cycling event traversing 230 km of Victoria's spectacular Alpine region.

The team is using the event as a platform to raise money for MS research.

A bit about MS:

Multiple Sclerosis is a devastating disease, growing in Australia at the alarming rate of 7% p.a. It's affecting 3 times more women than men, with up to 1,000 new diagnoses each year, often for Australians in their 20's and early 30's.

That's the human cost.

The community cost in Australia is nearly $2 billion p.a. and yet we are spending less than $2 million p.a. to research this disease.

Yet there is hope. MS research in Australia is poised to make important breakthroughs that may reduce the incidence of MS and directly benefit people already with the disease.
